Heather Blain Vorhies is an Assistant Professor of English at University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she directs UNC Charlotte’s Writing Resources Center.
Previously, she was a post-doctoral research associate at University of Maryland, College Park. There, she directed the UMD Graduate School Writing Center.
Heather Blain Vorhies earned her doctorate in the Department of English and the Center for Writing Studies at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her dissertation uses Enlightenment physiological psychology and early nineteenth-century evangelical Protestant women’s writings to define the canon of style.
During her MFA program (University of Maryland, College Park), she was an Assistant Director for the Writing Center.
